Shelter Home of Solace & Tranquility Initiative is a new initiative of Trans & Intersex People-TIP for Human Rights In Nigeria (THRIN) now Dynamic Initiative for Healthcare & Human Rights (DIHHR) is putting up a call for an expression of interest for trans organizations to apply for funding for Safe House management within Nigeria.
On this day of International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, we at Dynamic Initiative for HealthCare & Human Rights stand in solidarity to remind the world that the LGBTQIA+ exist. Moreso, we remind Nigeria as a country that Transgender, Intersex and Nonconforming individuals are here to stay and we will continue to demand our rights as individuals of this nation. To our dear friends and allies, we thank you for standing with us.
A few reminders:
Stop being transphobic
Intersex people exist
Trans women are women
Gender-based violence must stop
Stop Intimate Partner Violence
Patriarchy is the root cause for both misogyny and transphobia
Today, Dynamic Initiative for Healthcare and Human Rights recognize and celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) in Nigeria even in the midst of a pandemic (COVID-19) and a must lock-down happening all over the world.
We are grateful that the trans community as a whole is becoming more visible in Nigeria as well as the push for acceptance and respect. We are saying that “We are valid and We are here”.
As an organization in Nigeria, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive workplace for everyone and we are proud to be celebrating TDOV today with our DIHHR family and beyond.
At the same time, we recognize that visibility isn’t everything. Your gender is real whether or not it is seen by others. We see you!!!
